In extensive, ongoing training activities this past week, Hapan Marines and Naval Forces engaged in joint training operations on an undisclosed, outlying Hapan planet. This is just one of the latest in a string of such operations aimed at keeping the Hapan military forces in top fighting form, ready to defend their homeland at a moment's notice.
A spokesman for the Royal Hapan Armed Forces offered this statement earlier today: "We're happy to report that both Marines and Naval forces performed admirably in this joint training scenario. We feel it is important that Marine and Naval units become accustomed to working in tandem as a unified force, providing for a broader range of more flexible tactics. They practiced everything from boarding hostile vessels to combined air and ground assaults on military outposts. The camaraderie between these men and women was impressive. At times you hardly noticed the distinction between Marine and Naval units--they were simply Hapan soldiers, working together to get the job done and to get each other home in one piece. With joint space and ground forces working fluidly as one, I think we should be able to meet any threat, great or small."
Hapan military forces have long been renowned for their balanced mix of formidable naval ships and highly-trained ground assault troops, a concept that is reinforced by such news of them training side by side. It is comforting to know that whatever threat may arise to face the Hapan people, there will be a unified front of Hapan military might prepared to meet it, whether on land, in space, or anywhere in between.
