Following Royal Hapan Armed Forces awards ceremony held onboard the HRS Pulsar a month ago, the Rai`ix Chume Zayth Kadrim has been hosting a banquet at the Lorell Hall in recognition of the service of numerous government officials, with a speech held within the confines of its lush garden afterwards. Speaking earlier today in front of an audience of the most senior officials of the Consortium, the Royal Council, and members of the Council of Lords, the mood ranged from jubilant to sombre as His Majesty spoke in front of his esteemed guests.

“I am pleased to stand before you today on such an exalted day, though there is no denying that it is a sentiment accompanied by no small amount of nostalgia given the news to be announced. Just as Fel`da Tylger not long ago praised our armed forces’ officers and enlisted for their commendable efforts and exemplary service, I am here to extol and award recognition for those serving the Hapes Consortium through its civilian institutions.

First and foremost, I would like to announce the retirement of Tarix Chume Gane Lant, the Lord Regent to the Hapan Throne!
As we seek to build ever higher, it is always upon the work and fundamentals laid upon by those who came before us… And Lant, who may be an unfamiliar figure to any who have been following the Consortium’s political life only lately, was a veritable giant in the earlier period of the past decades during which the modern-day government of Hapes was established; The length of his service record, and the sheer range of duties and heavy responsibilities that he shouldered during his tenure with steady excellence, makes manifest that fact. From the numerous military commands to various leadership roles in planetary governance, finance, industry, as well as civil administration in addition to standing as the eldest of the Council of Lords, to managing the affairs of the Crown under the latter parts of King Alexander’s reign, Gane Lant stands to be recognized as one of the many great pillars of our society.
Always the stalwart statesman who sought to remain above the daily politics of the Royal Council and avoided the limelight of public attention, he has served as my Lord Regent till this very day, all these years, acting as a guarantor to the continuity of the Hapan government and the traditions and values which we hold so dear. Gane, thank you for all the years, it has been a privilege to have been working with you towards the betterment of the Consortium all these years, and I hope to continue seeing you on the Council of Lord for great many years to come.

As I grant him leave from his post, I do so recognizing his nearly unparalleled stature and length of service to the Hapes Consortium. But in doing so, one must also answer the question of whether this position shall remain vacant for the foreseeable future:
As such, I am pleased to announce that it is Diranix Alexander Tylger, Minister of Defence and the lord of Zadaria, my predecessor, as the next Lord Regent for the Hapes Consortium. A man who surely requires no introduction to any of you, Tylger is unique in his qualifications, and it will be a distinct pleasure to have him working with me on the broad matters of the realm once more.

But before we give applause to these two fine gentlemen, there is another important topic entirely, that I wish to address today.“

The king takes a small pause to smile at the audience, prior to continuing.

“You see, the composition of the Royal Council during my almost eight years of reign has seen numerous changes, as is proper, and to be expected. Still, there have been a number of constants, and among them, one in particular stands out. He is the man who took his post at my ascension and has held it, serving the Consortium with great distinction.

Fel’da Regalix, Alarendor Cyrus, Tarix of Vergill, took the helm of the Ministry of Industry and helped rekindle the flames of our industries, after a long period of subdued years and brought back focus and determination to the ministry. It is under his guidance that the Ministry of Industry in tandem with the hard-working teams of our nationalized corporations, Olanji/Charubah and Endara Mining Corporation, as well as our external partners, were able to not only complete many long-standing thorny infrastructure projects but lead us to a new day and age of prosperity and economic strength. Cities upon cities and planets upon planets have been built to provide a high quality of life to our citizens, our rate of progress these past years unparalleled! So much so, that we are justified in calling this an unequalled era of prosperity and peace for Hapes Consortium. And as an unintended consequence of it all, for the first time in our history, the Hapes Cluster is the home to over a trillion beings. Imagine, a single sector, our home, with a higher density of population than the imperial sector of Coruscant itself within the galactic core.

And it has not required us to spoil our beautiful worlds, strip entire systems of their resources or create untenable population pressures to impoverish ourselves or others, in heedless greed or reckless drive to outdo others. No, for we follow a different calling, to build a lasting future founded on our ideals, unafraid to face our shortcomings, unafraid to feel pride for our hard-won accomplishments. To preserve the essence of what is to be Hapan, without denying others their successes.

It is the era of unparalleled prosperity and progress for our people, and a great amount of that success must be laid at the feet of Cyrus and his committed employees of the Ministry, who have presided over it all. I cannot express how glad I am to state that every goal, every request I set before them, they have fulfilled. It is with that in mind that I could not be happier to respond to Cyrus’ request to lighten his responsibilities, with an affirmative smile. More so, since he will retain his role as Prime Minister to the Royal Council, and has promised to continue to lend his expertise and time to the Ministry of Industry, even as his prepared successor will step to the forefront!

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you your new Minister of Industry, Michael Clovrset! He has by now served well over a year as the Deputy Minister to Cyrus, and I am more than confident in his abilities as he seizes the reigns at the ministry!

Finally, there is one more appointment to be announced today.

Commander Taryn Zaraan, the Executive Commanding Officer of the Royal Hapan Navy, and Commandant of the Star Home Academy, has been appointed as the second Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Defence. He has performed exceptionally at the helm of the Academy, seeing through revisions our course portfolio, and it is a privilege to be able to expect his energies to be focused in full to the naval matters, once we can announce who will succeed him at the Academy.

And with that, I believe it is time that we begin making our way indoors, where we shall continue with the award ceremonies to recognize the great many more individuals of our government and civilian branches, without whom none of our great works would be possible.

But before we do so, please join me in applause to honour all those named today. Thank you, gentlemen, you do us all proud.”

The whole garden is heard erupting into thunderous applause as the holofeed pans towards the bright evening skies of the capitol and begins to fade out.
This marks end of the public feed, as the continuation of the awards ceremony will be broadcast to only domestic audiences.
