Hello there, and a very merry Hapmas to one and all!

Well folks, even with everything going on with the year outside Combine’s confines, it proved to be almost business as usual for us here; A number of interesting things had to be kicked further down the road, but even so it’d be hard to draw any other conclusion than that it was another good year for Hapes. My thanks to all of you who made that possible, both for your hard work on keeping the machine running, and for your ideas and energy for improving the group! Plenty of great ideas are still being stirred, and I’m excited to see what we can make of them during the upcoming year.

To all our new members of this year who I might not have had the chance to talk with yet, welcome and well met. As a recent arrival you needn’t if you haven’t immediately figured out your purpose with us and aren’t looking to jump into the deep end of things, but also don’t hesitate to find an oldie to talk about it if it concerns you, or you’re looking to get into the thick of it with the developmental projects being run by the different branches.

Moving onto the holiday celebrations, hopefully everyone partaking has been enjoying this year’s Holiday Safari, and if you’re looking for the traditional treats, the bonus wage round has now been paid out, and you can find the details for our community raffle on the boards.

But wait, where’s the prize hunt over the site this year you might wonder? We’re looking to be doing some much needed back-end maintenance on the site starting January, and due to momentary downtime and other funkiness that you may notice occurring from there on, running the prize hunt wouldn’t really have worked out – which is why we’ve ensured that everyone participating in the raffle get to sink their teeth into something! (And if you happen to be proficient in PHP, we’d love to hear from you.)

Oh, and if you’ve not yet seen the art that Alex has created for us in the past months, you’re in for a real treat.

For now, a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, do take care of yourselves, and have a great New Years everyone! See you all in 2021!
