The Fountain Palace has released a press briefing regarding the Ministry of Defence, announcing changes to the structure and command of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces;
Earlier today, His Majesty, King Zayth I met with the Minister of Defence Xesh Randell aboard HRS Pride, the Pulsar-class Battle Cruiser serving as the flagship of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces, so as to attend the swearing in of the new Chief of Staff as well as the Naval Commanding. The ceremony took place within the serene H’Mortee shrine, situated on the solar deck at the bow of the vessel.
As it is known, the Royal Hapan Armed Forces are seeing the addition of two more branches to its force structure, firstly with the official division of duties of the Royal Hapan Marines and the Royal Hapan Army which will see them proceed as separate branches, and secondly with the concentration of numerous specialized support functions – previously existing as part of each service branch’s headquarters - into the newly formed Joint Forces Command.
Alongside these structural changes, and those which will play out within the service branches, the military High Command will be strengthened by the inclusion of new appointments.
Line Captain Rillik Rah of the Royal Hapan Navy, who in the past has led the 1st Fleet prior to a leave of absence relating to family matters, has been appointed the Deputy Minister of Defence, as well as the Chief of Staff for the Royal Hapan Armed Forces. As part of the delegation of duties, he will be taking over the operational command of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces from Minister Randell, who will continue with oversight of the military’s operational planning and execution, as well as personnel matters. As the Chief of Staff for the armed forces, the Deputy Minister will become the new chairman of the military High Command.
In addition, Contra Admiral Ryou Vacosa, who has experience commanding both the Royal Hapan Navy, as well as the entire armed forces as the Minister of Defence, has been appointed once more to the helm of the Royal Hapan Navy as its Commanding Officer, as Chief of Naval Operations. To aid him in the challenges to come, Line Captain Draygo Antares will continue as the Navy Executive Officer as well as a Fleet Commander.
Further announcements regarding the Armed Forces, continue to be made on the intranet.
