The eagerly awaited ComUnit network was released by HapTech last month right on schedule. Announced three weeks ago, ComUnit excited the public when it learned that all existing datapads would be upgraded in order to complement the software. Even the military has accepted that the ComUnit is useful, purchasing a datapad with ComUnit software for every officer in the Navy and Army though it is rumored that the military version offers even more functions.
The ComUnit software accesses the Comserver and offers real time video and holographic communication as well as delayed video messaging. A voice recognition and DNA recognition security system has also been implemented, allowing the Unit to be locked down if a thief tries to access it.
Other features include:
- The ability to connect to the HoloNet
- A health monitor
- A day organizer
- A data link to your HoloNet terminal at home
- Access to more Hapan News Network features
- Fun games such as Tetris, Pong and Battlefield 1942
Weighing in at only 2 grams yet built with durasteel, the ComUnit datapad can be worn around the wrist as a conventional watch or attached to a belt. To order yours, connect to the HapTech Net page.
