Template:Military-Officer Carrie-Anne Ellynor Jade is a single child, born on Hapes Prime and raised on a far-away planet called Mornié. Both her parents disappeared long ago, which was the primary reason for her returning to the Hapes Cluster. Before long she took on the job as Chief Editor of the Hapan Star and is still occupied by this job. As well as that she is currently a Commander in the Royal Hapan Armed Forces and in charge of Fighter Command.
History
Early Life
Carrie Jade is the only daughter of Lady Eleanor Jesslyn Jade and Arian Paulo Jade. The two had met at university as they were both studying Hapan history, Eleanor being a dedicated and loyal Hapan and Arian an explorer, interested in facts and research. Their studies enabled them to open a small research company and work with the National Hapes Library. Lady Eleanor was at the age of 24 when she married Carrie’s father, and he had been 32 and was just about finishing off his studies.
But two years later Eleanor realised she was pregnant, and nine months after that, on the 29th September of the year 4010 Carrie-Anne Jade was born. No more than a year had passed when Carrie’s mother discovered Arian’s darkest secret. He was a fraud, a secret spy and a member of a forbidden trading group in Hapes. Much to her dismay, she discovered that he was smuggling individuals into the Cluster and trading hidden coordinates with other factions. She prepared to leave him, but figured she could not bare the thought even, and tried to change his ways instead. And change he did, but to little effect, for the illegal trading group he had been a member of would not let him go so easily. They harassed the Jade Family and spied upon them, sending them blackmail and other threats when they got the chance.
So Carrie’s parents were forced to leave the Hapes Cluster. They moved to a planet called Mornié, a snowy planet located in the outer rims of the galaxy and shut off from much of the galactic events. Eleanor Jade grew obsessed with her daughter, having naught else to do, and taught her off Hapes’ history and all else there was to learn of the Hapan culture. So it was that she grew into a proud and dedicated Hapan woman.
At the age of 8 civil wars erupt on the planet, and its already weakened economy almost collapsed. Foreigners and emigrates were used to put the blame on, and so the Jade Family, being Hapans, were pursued. They found themselves caught in the middle, for returning to Hapes would have meant death just as remaining on Mornié was a constant threat to their lives. They were driven away in the end, and one fine winter day, they were caught out in the wilderness and chased by foot. Carrie was but 10 years of age when her mother broke into the ice of a frozen river and drowned beneath her feet. This was when an unbreakable bond was forged between her and her father.
Arian felt the urge to pursue his dead wife’s task, and so continued teaching Carrie the laws of Hapes and its culture. Being his only daughter and being brought up more like a boy than a girl, she turned into quite the thrill seeker. But when Arian Jade’s former colleagues began pursuing him once more, he decided to leave his daughter behind with no information of his whereabouts, for her own safety, and move into exile so as to distract his enemies and keep their eyes on him instead of his daughter. She was 18 the day he vanished, in the year 4028 by Hapan timelines. This was when she realised her chance to break away, and she moved straight back to Hapes. But she went not alone, for she took her father’s assistant with her, Jake Armstrong, whom she had fallen in love with at the time.
Military Service
Carrie spent a good three years on Lorell working in a bar called The Shepherd’s Inn. Here she met her future best friend Marian Sanders, and once the two had saved up enough credits they bought a semi-detached house on Hapes Prime together.
In the year 4031 and at the tender age of 21, she joined the Royal Phoenix Corporation but did not stay there for any longer than six months. The precise reason will always remain unknown; however Carrie left Phoenix then to join the Royal Hapan Navy. At the same time Jake Armstrong disappeared, where to and why he left, remained secret. Either way she became close friends with many officers in her time in the Navy, being the open person she was, but the one friend that played the most important role in her life – apart from her crew – was Ariath Windcloud.
In the close to 2 years she spent serving the Navy she climbed the ladder of ranks rather swiftly. The first squadron she was assigned was a dozen of Hetrinar Assault Bombers under the name of Raider Squadron. It was under Commodore, at the time, Locke Firecam’s command and in the 1st Hapan Fleet she came across the Silver Eagle Squadron, a dozen of Miy’til fighters. She caused a great fuss and uproar, for she wanted this fleet badly, but eventually she managed to swap and become the commanding officer of the Silver Eagle Squadron. Her highest rank and position was Lieutenant Commander and Fleet Executive Officer, which she reached on 18th August in the year 4033 in the 3rd Escort Fleet. It was not until then she changed over from her job as fighter pilot to a capital ship pilot.
Government Service
Some time after this, and still in 4033, King Jessy James personally contacted Carrie and offered her the position of Deputy Minister of Finance. She had already proven she could be trusted by helping out with the calculations of Hapes’ finances. She accepted the offer and became the first Deputy Minister of Finance. When Lord Steve Falcon Rainey, Minister of Finance at the time, stepped down from his position she took over and became the new Minister of Finance. But in order to do so, she had to sacrifice her full-time job with the Navy. But with this position Carrie Jade became the first female member of the Royal Council at the time.
Discovering The Galaxy
Alongside all of this, starting at the beginning of her naval career really, Carrie took on a part-time job as reporter with the Hapan newspaper. It was in 4032 that Minister Celestin Abriel took on the paper and changed its name to the Hapan Star. Not long after this he passed it into Carrie’s hands, for she’d proven to have a great talent for writing and organising. Ever since she has been the proud Chief Editor of the Hapan Star, publishing by the motto, “Discover The Galaxy.”
During her government service she had grown very close with Minister Mors Baynos. She had known him ever since her first day with Hapes, but her new job with the government meant working together with him more intense from now on. The two very soon did almost everything together, apart only when they had to depart to their offices and complete a day’s work. It took them but a year until they decided to marry. It was a grand marriage indeed, with the King attending and at least a dozen tears shed. But in Carrie blissful attitude to life she never noticed just how many hearts she broke by marrying away, nor did she notice that anyone had been stunned into a state of shock by the announcement of her marriage. Her intimate friendship with Mors had gone unnoticed to the public eye.
The young minister had only been in charge of Hapes’ finances for a year when received an unexpected visit from someone out of her past in her office one evening. This disturbed her so greatly that she decided to pursue the matter, and take an extended LOA. She did not return for nigh on six months. In this time her marriage fell apart, which had never gone well from the start, Aviana Badara took on the position of Minister of Finance and when she returned, she almost lost the Hapan Star.
Rumour had it that Carrie had rediscovered her father in this time, and also returned to her childhood planet Mornié. But whether or not this was true she would say only to those who vowed to keep it secret. She was received warmly by her fellow Hapan colleagues, most of which had missed her rather dearly. Some she had served with before her departure had vanished, and new faces had appeared for her to meet. One of which was Lord Sirius Threestars, whom she became very friendly with. Rumours spread like wildfire about the two and their good companionship, but whether or not they were – or are – true, neither of them would ever say.
Having returned to Hapes and found so many changes, she figured it would be easiest to return to a long lost passion. And so Carrie Jade applied for the Royal Hapan Navy again. She has been given the rank of Lieutenant Commander once more. She vows to keep the Hapan Star going and remain its Chief Editor alongside any future job of hers.
Very soon after this she jumped in as a temporary Minister of Finance, filling in an important and empty space, as Aviana Badara, who had taken over once she’d disappeared, had now vanished herself. Who would take over after her she did not know, but her seat in the Royal Council was only temporary, that much she knew and felt rather clearly. This also made it difficult for her to give the position all her passion and heart, as she tended to do with any other occupation of hers.
Not much time had passed when a new and rather revolutionary idea popped up; it was that of the Fighter Command. A new fleet, a new battle group, was to be created, consisting of no more than two capital ships and fighter ships only. It was to be a tactical unit, specially trained and though a part of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces still set apart from all other groups. Something as individual and extraordinary as this was right up Carrie’s street. She was announced XO of the fleet, serving under CO Drax Rhuze. As the Lieutenant very soon after set off on an LOA Carrie took over command and is still setting things up and getting the new Fighter Command running. Some months after this she was promoted to the rank of Commander. This has been her latest accomplishment and source of motivation.
