Template:Third Expansion Era The Third Expansion Era (3210–3581) was the eighth era of the Age of Queen-Mothers and came to be as a result of the coup of 3210. The Cazin'turin dynasty was overthrown and Lady Vali'dara was made Queen-Mother. During this era, the last systems along the Transitory Mist region were scouted, claimed and in some cases, colonised, marking the maximum expansion of the Hapes Consortium.

Monarchy
House Vali'dara was respected throughout the Hapes Consortium for their honourable nature prior to the coronation of Queen-Mother Vali'dara I, especially due to their handling of the Zaa rebellion. Admiral Nuriin was honoured as a hero following her death at the hands of Queen-Mother Cazin'turin VII and the new ruling dynasty bestowed nobility upon the Nuriin family, making them a Dukatii.

The Vali'dara dynasty put the excessive military forces that Queen-Mother Cazin'turin VII had ordered to good use by securing all systems within the Hapan realm and also further exploring the more distant and dangerous regions of the Hapes Cluster. While originally a very militaristic family, the dynasty ultimately went down in the history books as supporters of exploration and culture.

Society & Expansion
The Sion, Rii, Dreema, Tirsa and Zukan systems were all colonised during this era. Some of the systems and their habitable planets had been previously known to the Hapan government, but not deemed necessary to colonise on previous occasions. Even during this particular era, not all were considered important enough to warrant large scale settlements or even the presence of ruling nobility, but all the systems were included in the dominion of the Hapes Consortium, as was the Rebo system.

The monarchs of the Vali'dara dynasty fiercely promoted ideals and ideas of taking care of your fellow Hapans and respecting the chain of command within Hapan society, especially the nobility. Even so, tensions ran high between nobles who had been allowed to act on their rivalries during the reign of the previous dynasty. Feuds between nobles became more and more frequent. To create unity, the Consortium Games were held annually. In these games, the four regions of the Hapes Cluster would compete against each other in events ranging from survival skills to athletic and motor sports. Ultimately the games did little but split the various nobles in to groups who co-operated for limited amounts of time, nearly against their will, but none were willing to lose face by having their teams be defeated in the games.

Armed Forces
The Royal Hapan Armed Forces were used during this era to remove pirate bases found in systems which the Hapes Consortium annexed. They were involved in a fair share of combat operations, both space and land based. In addition to all this, the Royal Hapan Navy discovered several previously unknown passages through the Transitory Mist which they either put heavy guard around or mined to prevent any more pirates from sneaking in.

House Pal'durath made a bid for power with the backing of House Olanji and House Par'wandi's massive fleets in 3581, insisting that the Vali'dara dynasty was unfit the rule the Hapes Consortium. Queen-Mother Vali'dara IX somewhat reluctantly abdicated and gave the reins of power to Queen-Mother Pal'durath I.
