Maires is an aquatic world located in a system by the same name, situated in close proximity of the Vergill and Charubah systems in the Rifle Worlds region. It is the homeworld of the Mairans, a tentacled aquatic race, which was also one of the species that helped establish the Hapes Consortium. With virtually no landmass, save for a few scattered islands, the planet has seen limited efforts at settlement by Hapans.
