Early life
Hans von Luck's life history started years ago. While the records said that he is a Corellian, Hans is originally from Tatooine. His skin, tanned from Tatooine's twin sun and his hands, rough from holding a Bantha's rein is a testament to this. He has no parents, he doesn't even have any idea on who or where he is actually.
It's a harsh life in the desert, but Hans managed to get by. He constructed a dwelling near the eastern edge of the Dune Sea, near the edge of a cliff that overlooks the large expanse of the desert. The place was secluded enough so that a traveler won't notice it, but occasionally a lost soul wandered by. Hans will gladly point him back to civilization, hoping that the person will forget his dwelling's location. All the better since visitors will usually attract the Sandpeople. His first encounter with one is rough, but he managed to escape with his life. So does the Tusken Raider, and Hans is glad that he did not have to take another being's life.
Though attempting to be self-sufficient, it was quite hard for him to get what he wanted. Hence, he would sometimes wander into the city of Mos Espa to trade the things that he found in the desert, often to the Jawas. After the sales and bargaining, he would drop into the tavern and gather knowledge from the moisture farmers that made the tavern their watering hole. With this knowledge, Hans managed to do enough modifications to his modest dwellings and for most of the time, he was quite comfortable with the way things were going.
He spent some years in the desert before gaining employement in UNB. Exploring the Galaxy in the company's ship, von Luck have met a many interesting characters. After the CEO of UNB went missing, von Luck abandoned the company's DST on Coruscant, hoping that the authority will return it to it's rightful owner.
Centrepoint Space Station
Later, he joined CSS as a Trader before moving up to Financial Manager. During this time, CSS is under the leadership of Togan Jano and Warlord Khan. While working at the station, von Luck learned to admire and respect the latter. Khan regarded von Luck as his own son, often sharing his thoughts about the civil war raging in the Galaxy with him. Khan had always thought that he knew von Luck from somewhere before, and von Luck is inclined to agree.
Things soon take a turn for the worse. Governor-General Togan Jano left, along with Warlord Khan heading for the Outer Rims, leaving von Luck at the station with a new person in charge, Zorran Black. Soon afterwards, an Imperial blockade of Centrepoint, led by Correll Antiab, began. Von Luck narrowly avoided the blockade, leaving his home behind.
Hapes Consortium
From here, he found a new place he can call home. In the midst of the Galaxy conflict, a group held the ideas of honour, pride and glory, and wishes to remain neutral from the conflict outside. Von Luck joined the Hapes Consortium, and was suprised to see some of his old friends had also found their way here. Warlord Khan served as Minister of Trade before finally leaving for the Outer Rims, and Zabdoo, the former Financial Manager whom von Luck replaced was also here.
Von Luck joined the Consortium at the time of conflict. Black Sun had constructed several cities on Lorell, attempting to take control of the doorway to the Hapes Cluster. The Hapan Government is not to be trifled with, however. Operation Hapan Pride was launched, and had not for the diplomatic success the military forces would have finished mopping up the surface of Lorell. Von Luck was a Cadet at that time. He was unable to participate in the operation as he was just preparing to board the assault shuttle, word came for a cessation of hostilities.
The Man
Von Luck is tall by human standards, standing well above the average-sized human. By Hapan standards however, he is somewhat below the average height. He is dark-skinned from the years on Tatooine, and his hands are rough from the holding the reins of Banthas. His pysique tells of years of hard work and military training. Von Luck is often seen in his khaki officer's uniform that he had all this years. While old, it is still weareable and made from materials designed to withstand the harsh desert. He can also be seen in his armour overalls.
At 45 years of age, von Luck is one of the oldest man serving in Hapes. There were indications that he was in the millitary long before he joined Hapes, and he still carries the experiences with him. He enjoys field training, fine coffee and visiting the Crater of Maires in his X-34 Speeder. Visiting Lorell, he will usually stay at The Lucky Panzer, his tavern in the city of Loronaria.
Von Luck is not a man predisposed to small talk. He does not involve himself in conflicts unless it involves his honour or Hapes'. While serious in his work, Von Luck is reserved and is quite open within his small circle of friends. Devoted to his career, he is often found working well into the night.
Mysterious Origins
Von Luck have no idea who his parents were. Even his age and origin remains a mystery. Nobody on Tatooine recalls seeing him before. Even his age is assumed, as Khan had told him that he was 20 years senior of von Luck.
