Template:Nobility-Box-Female-D-Mil Emilie Shaa (Countess Shaa of Alsnin) (Emilie Ducha Shaa Alsninah) was a military officer who served in the Draconian Navy during the Hapan civil war. As Countess, she governed Alsnin with an iron fist and her brutal tactics earned her the nickname “The Iron Maiden.” That nickname in turn would also serve as the inspiration for her command ship, the feared Tractia Heavy Cruiser, Maiden of Iron.
Her repressive regime over Alsnin caused her name to be feared throughout the Alsace system. But it would be her total destruction of the rebel cell, Tears of Dawnstar, that would garner Emilie a reputation and further catapulted her into the upper echelons of Draconian military officers.
Early Life
Emilie was born in the Alsnin in 3955, the second of three daughters born to Lady Dahalia Shaa. She was raised with the intent that she would reign over the Alsace system alongside her older sister, Wensay Shaa. As an heiress of House Shaa, she was enrolled in the Charubah Naval Academy at a very young age, and studied military history and strategy through an accelerated program. Meanwhile, her interests in Hapan history were accentuated with an influx of conservative Draconian values.
She was a fierce proponent of the Hapani-human advocacy, which was rampant throughout Draconian ideals. Her belief was that Hapans were the perfect sentient specimen. She used herself as the poster-child for her campaign. She prided herself on her physical looks, and took great strides in establishing a style of elegance and class even amongst the war-hawks of the Draconian society. Though she was renowned for her beauty, she was overshadowed by her younger sister, Lyric Shaa, and jealousy festered within her.
Military Career
Scars of War
Emilie, serving as a First Lieutenant of the Draconian Navy, would take part in the second battle of Varn. In the battle, she suffered extensive third-degree burns to her face and hands, leaving her scarred on the right side of her face. She was driven to the brink of insanity when she discovered the extent of her injuries. Through numerous surgical procedures, doctors were able to recover her natural beauty, but it would not heal the psychological damage done to her. Believing that she was permanently scarred and no longer physically attractive, from then on she wore a mask that covered the damaged side of her face.
Her injury would also alter her demeanor. She was no longer mentally stable, and suffered from fits of rage from time to time. Her instability also reflected on her actions on the war front. She resorted to drastic measures to get the desired effects, and invented new, inhumane methods of interrogation and torture.
Maiden of Iron
The Maiden of Iron was completed in 3979 and was presented to House Shaa for reclaiming the Alsace system from the Victory Alliance. Lady Dahalia Shaa appointed Emilie as commander of the mighty Tractia Heavy Cruiser. Emilie took full advantage of the powerful warship. It would serve her well, as he waged war against remnants of the Victory Alliance in order to wipe them out, as well as dealing with a sudden insurgence known as Tears of Dawnstar
Rebellion
Her most brutal campaign was reserved for the rebel cell Tears of Dawnstar. Though she publically dismissed the actions of the insurgence as a proverbial thorn in her side, her counteractions belied her true feelings towards the rebels. In the year 3982, she began plans of building a Golan I station over Dreema, to serve as a penitentiary for hostile elements against House Shaa and the Draconian Union. One year later, at the ceremony to introduce the space station, reportedly as a military base of operations, Emilie feed information to Dawnstar about her secret plans of visiting the station, essentially setting up an elaborate trap.
The result was the capture of the Dawnstar leader, Lyric Shaa, Emilie’s younger sister. Emilie was known for her free use of Gun of Command-style executions and she held nothing back in executing her sister and the remaining insurgents located at the Dawnstar base in Cavallero. She would then spend several months in Cavallero, systematically annihilating village after village within and on the outskirts of the Cavallero Desert for any remnants of rebel activity. She would be given another nickname for this vicious campaign, The Desert Exterminator.
Iron Grip
Template:Nobility-Styles-F Wensay Shaa became the Lady of House Shaa in 3986 following the death of Dahalia Shaa. The Shaa siblings were tasked with handling numerous campaigns against the rising Phoenix Movement and are also credited for holding the Alsace system to the end of the war (albeit with the loss of Dreena and Cavallero, making Alsnin their last stand).
Emilie Shaa commanded the 6th Draconian Order, spearheaded by the Maiden of Iron, in the second battle of Gallinore. Her ship was destroyed as it attacked the main battle line of the Phoenix Movement's fleet. A Quasar Battle Cruiser with a failing main reactor accidentally rammed the Maiden's engines, triggering an explosion that consumed several nearby ships.
