Template:UnderConstruction Template:Portal-DraconianAF The Draconian Armed Forces was the most prominent military force within the Hapes Cluster during the Hapan civil war which lasted from 3946 until 3999. It was similar to the traditional pre-war Hapan Armed Forces, yet had several unique characteristics and underwent several reforms during the decades the conflict lasted.
Overview
Command
By modern standards, the structure of the Draconian Union's military would seem strangely chaotic. While all the military forces were subordinate to the Union's leader who functioned as a sort of supreme commander, the military rarely operated in unison and was regional. It was subordinate of the nobility which governed the Union's systems and also funded the local military.
In offensive campaigns, noble houses would be selected and tasked with making the plan a reality. If lacking the necessary military resources, they would request assistance from other Draconian families. As no solid hierarchy existed for interaction in between the various systems' forces, co-operation was often difficult and relied on good relations between the Draconian noble houses. Though in later years some staff, often commoners of high standing, were employed to oversee the overall status of the Union's military and ensure that troops were diverted where needed.
