Template:Sub-Government The Grand Tarii of Selab (Zirax Tarii n Selab) was a minor government in the Rim Worlds region which existed from 702 to 3948. It was ruled by House Raqill, a Tarii noble family that held dominion over the world Selab within the Mathonore system. The Raqill family became nobility during the social reforms of the Antiquity Era. While most systems were limited to one Tarii family, some exceptions were made. The Raqills, ruling Selab within the Mathonore system which was the territory of House Liqavius, were granted symbolic territory elsewhere. Hence the Grand Tarii of Selab was created, which territories included the Arxian system and numerous space colonies within the Irrea Mist.

As most other contemporary political entities within the Hapes Cluster, the Grand Tarii of Selab was a Hapan vassal state which was represented in Lorell Hall by House Raqill and the Archon of the Rim Worlds. Selab was largely recognised as the cultural capital of the Hapes Cluster and the Grand Tarii became a leading example for many other provinces and protectorates of the Hapes Consortium.

The Arxian system was largely ignored, though sporadic mining rights were granted and other economic ventures were attempted during the existence of the Grand Tarii. The local fauna of the system was one of the main reasons cited by the Raqills for being hesitant about full scale colonisation of the system. Also, the Belgorians had proved troublesome during the initial contact, further discouraging the nobles from initiating any development.

The Grand Tarii of Selab was dissolved in 3948 when the Arxian system was designated the dominion of House Tylger and became the Tarii of Arxian. Selab, as a Tarii, retained its sovereignty from the Tarii of Mathonore until the end of the Hapan Civil War.
