Template:Tech-Gun The HB-1 Blaster Pistol was designed and created by Endara Arms. It was put into circulation in 4028 and remains in production today. In its early days, the guns’ stylish good looks landed it in many prominent holovids, most notably of which was the Raid Runner trilogy. However, it was its rugged durability and superiority over the aging RAGC-P30 design that landed this model as the official sidearm of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces.
Development & Function
Created in 4028, the HB-1 was the first firearm to be produced in the factories of Endara Arms and replaced the antiquated RAGC-P30 as the official sidearm of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces. With the current Hapan armed forces sidearm, the RAGC-P30 having no significant improvement in its design in nearly fifty years, when Endara Arms approached the Royal Council in 4030 with a proposition to equip all of its officers with a newer, more durable, and more powerful sidearm, at a fraction of their production costs, the Royal Council jumped on the proposition, returning to Endara less than three days later with a ten year contract. Though Endara Arms initially supplied the firearms to current officers at a loss, the profit accumulated over the course of the Ten Year contract is forecast to be rather generous.
Usage
Used as the official sidearm of the Royal Hapan Armed Forces, the HB-1 blaster pistol, like most all other blaster pistols is used by simply pointing the gun at your target and squeezing the trigger. While the HB-1 has a shorter range than most other blaster pistols, it has a significantly more powerful bolt, and is significantly easier to become proficient with.
Semi-automatic
The gun could be set to two different modes. The first, and most commonly used mode is semi-automatic, which is used most frequently in close quarters combat where the risk of hitting a friendly target was very real. In this mode, each squeeze of the trigger, one blaster bolt is fired from the barrel, making it easier to ensure the bolts fired hit their intended target.
Burst
The second mode is burst fire, in which each squeeze of the trigger quickly fires three successive bolts of energy at the target. This mode is mainly used in assaults when it is necessary to make sure the target is quickly eliminated, but there is still some risk minor risk of hitting a friendly target or innocent bystander. This firing more is less accurate than the semi-automatic mode, but more accurate than the fully automatic, or “repeater” mode seen on some heavier blaster, and is seen as a fair balance between the two modes.
