Template:Planetary-System The Hapan System is located in the Capital region of the Hapes Cluster and functions as the administrative centre of the Hapes Consortium. It was discovered by the Lorell Raiders during the Pre-Founding Age and colonised shortly thereafter. After the female uprising against the Lorell Raiders, the system became the capital of their new government.
It is the home of the Royal Family, as well as headquarters of the Royal Hapan Navy, Royal Hapan Army and Royal Hapan Support Corps. It has been praised for its beautiful temperate worlds and is famous for its numerous large oceanic moons which bathes the planets in constant light from the Hapan star.
The system is governed by the Royal Family and office of the Prime Minister. In recent years the planet Terephon has been developed in to a large ecumenopolis which provides living quarters for many of the Hapes Consortium's richest citizens.
History
The Hapan system was discovered shortly after the Lorell Raiders first settled in the Hapes Cluster, but not colonised until -429 during the Pre-Founding Age. Upon the founding of the Hapes Consortium in year 1 during the Foundation Era, the system became the new government's capital.
Age of Queen-Mothers
Throughout the Age of Queen-Mothers, the Hapan system remained the capital of the Hapes Consortium and was heavily fortified to fend off pirate attacks. Though occasional raids did occur when pirates actually managed to land on the richer planets of the system, they were few and far in between.
Dark Age
During the Dark Age, the Hapan civil war splintered the Hapes Consortium. The Hapan system was contested from day one, but the Sword Confederacy held on to the system from 3946 until 3996 but was subject to numerous devastating attacks, including the bombardment of Terephon. The Phoenix Movement seized the capital city in 3996 and managed to hold on to it until the peace treaties were finally signed in 3999.
Phoenix Age & Golden Age
Much of the early years of the Phoenix Age was spent restoring the system's planets to their former glory after fifty years of bombardment and space combat which had littered it with craters and debris. Many Hapans who had lived in exile from the system returned in the newly re-unified Hapes Consortium and many large financial projects were initiated. Among them was the restoration of Terephon as a domed city-scape and the creation of a ecumenopolis on Haradan.
