Template:UnderConstruction Template:Planetary-System The Lorell system is located in the Lorellon Conduit in the Rifle Worlds region. It is the only official way in and out of the Hapes Cluster as the system functions as a natural void in the Transitory Mist. For the Hapes Consortium it has always been one of the most important systems in their space and has been heavily fortified.

Since the Hapes Consortium reopened its borders to the outside galaxy in 4024, the system and the planet Lorell has served as a interstellar trade hub and has been established as one of the most important commerce centers of the galaxy. The Royal Hapan Armed Forces routinely patrol the entire system and directs traffic in the massive designated spacelanes that run through the system.

History

Prior to the founding of the Hapes Consortium, the Lorell system was a base of operations for the Lorell Raiders who had established a fairly primitive society on the planet Lorell. Eventually the pirates were defeated by the Jedi and the female captives of the Raiders turned on their masters.

Age of Queen-Mothers

While Hapes Prime was established as the capital of the Hapes Consortium, the Lorell system remained strategically important due to its location in the Lorellon Conduit which was the only known entrance to the Hapes Cluster at the time. While partially thankful for the fact that the Lorell Raiders were gone, the Hapans remained hostile towards the Jedi and Galactic Republic over the centuries, resulting in some border conflicts such as the Lorell skirmish of 1375.

The Hapes Consortium maintained a massive military presence within the system at all times to regulate who went in and out of the Hapes Cluster. When the borders of the Consortium were closed in 2051, all intruders or people attempting to escape where destroyed at sight. It became a hub of military activity and was more densely fortified than the Hapan system at times.

Dark Age

During the Dark Age and Hapan civil war, the Lorell system became the first target for the party which initiated the conflict, the Draconian Union. Three fleets of the Union's most powerful noble houses attacked the system in early 3946, catching the forces stationed in the system off guard. With assistance from agents on Lorell's surface, the Union managed to land troop transports on the surface and seized control with a few days.

It remained Draconian Union territory for the duration of the conflict and was also established as its capital. While the other parties of the conflict attempted to invade it on numerous occasions, most attacks and assaults were shortlived. Following the peace treaties of 3999, the Lorell system returned to the re-unified Hapes Consortium's control in 4000.

Phoenix Age & Golden Age

In the early days of the Phoenix Age, the Lorell system returned to the old status of being the Hapes Consortium's border fortress. While some Hapans were allowed to venture out, few were left in. Limited immigration was permitted, but those who sought to become Hapan citizens had to be highly qualified and intelligent individuals to even be considered.

The Hapes Consortium also used the Lorell system as a base of operations for agents of the Consortium who were sent out to establish trade agreements with foreign parties. While it was against Hapan tradition, the leaders of the Consortium realized that some goods were highly sought and needed after following half a century of war, such as medical supplies.

In 4024 the borders of the Hapes Cluster were partially opened to the outside galaxy, but foreigners were restricted to visiting the Lorell system. Lorell was established as an embassy and commerce world where foreign parties could purchase land and set up production facilities in order to supply Hapans with some foreign goods. It was a massive success, resulting in the establishment of ecumenopolis' on several of the planets in the system in order to provide everyone on Lorell with a nearby residence.

Traffic in the system is strictly regulated by the Royal Hapan Navy and the Hapan Port Authorities and the system is one of the biggest trade hubs in the galaxy with dozens of interstellar corporations established there.
