Template:Noble House-Current House Shaa is a noble house of the level Tarii which governs the Zalori system. The house does not have any representation in Lorell Hall anymore.
During the Dark Age the family was among the most powerful noble houses in the Draconian Union. Initially it ruled the Grand Tarii of Terephon, which consisted of the Terephon and Zalori systems, while Maad and Roqoo were protectorates. House Shaa was tasked with quelling the Victory Alliance, which broke away from the Draconian Union and attempted to conquer the Hapan Rim Worlds and Corsair Outback in a bid for the Hapan throne. Emerging victorious after a bloody campaign, House Shaa's dominion eventually receded as a result of the Phoenix Movement's victories towards the end of the war, forcing the family to retreat to Zalori.
History
Age of Queen-Mothers
House Shaa was founded as a Dukatii on Terephon in 702 with the establishment of the feudal nobility system. They remained subordinate to House ? up until the Third Expansion Era when Qalin Vali'dara was made Queen-Mother and the Dreema system was discovered.
House Shaa was elevated to Tarii and became the ruler of the Terephon system in 3215. Because the Hapan Rim Worlds were still very much frontier territory, the Shaas were allowed to establish the Grand Tarii of Terephon. Being granted governance and dominion over several nearby star systems, it became an important part of the Rim Worlds region for the duration of the Age of Queen-Mothers and well in to the Dark Age.
Dark Age
The house supported the cause of Princess Da'tan and the Draconian Union during the Hapan Civil War of the Dark Age. Since House Shaa was located a fair distance from the frontlines of the war, their territory was left untouched for the majority of the first two decades of the war. In 3965, while their forces were committed to the Draconian frontlines elsewhere in the Hapes Cluster, House Tyrridon and House Vali'dara formed the Victory Alliance in the southern Hapan Rim Worlds before launching an attack on Shaa's holdings.
As a consequence, the Shaas lived in exile in the Zadaria system, building up their military forces with the help of House Olanji. Thirsting for revenge, the Draconian leadership drew up plans to destroy the Victory Alliance in the years that followed the fall of Terephon. House Shaa, with the assistance of House Ci'hani, launched a bloody campaign that lasted from 3970 to 3972. In the end the Shaas destroyed the Victory Alliance, and took back their former holdings. Not stopping there, their military forces advanced further south in the Hapan Rim Worlds and also conquered the former holdings of Houses Tyrridon and Vali'dara.
Perceiving parts of their population as collaborators and traitors for not having rebelled against the Victory Alliance, the Shaas introduced a hard-line conservative and tyrannical rule in their dominion with the blessing of House Ci'hani. Over the next decade the family was in constant conflict with the rebel cell Tears of Dawnstar which was disruptive for all Draconian activity in their systems.
Towards the end of the war, Shaa's holdings gradually receded as a consequence of the Sword Confederacy re-focusing their efforts in the Hapan Rim Worlds. Eventually the Phoenix Movement annexed the Confederacy's territories and continued the front against the Shaas, forcing the family to abandon Terephon and retreat to Zalori where they dug in. They stood their ground until peace was announced between the Draconian Union and Phoenix Movement in 3999.
Phoenix Age & Golden Age
House Shaa somewhat reluctantly agreed to cease hostilities in 3999 and did very little to contribute to the reunification of the Hapes Consortium under King Andrew. The family's representation in Lorell Hall was removed, though governance of their last remaining holding, Zalori, was allowed to continue. Many notable Draconian veterans, such as Vali Trini'qar, settled in Zalori after the end of the war.
