Template:Nobility-Box-Male-Mil Locke Firecam (Lord Firecam of Sarr) (Locke Tarix Firecam Sarrah) is the ruling Hapan noble of the Sarr system and a prominent military commander. Firecam currently serves as commander of the Royal Hapan Navy under the title Chief of Staff. One of the younger and newest members to the Hapan senior command staff, he has done many things to transform the Navy into the shape that it is in today. Best known as the face of the Royal Hapan Navy and for leading the naval forces into what was referred to as the Naval Golden Age. His work with the navy as well as unique leadership style led King James to make Admiral Firecam the most recent addition to the Peerage of Hapan Nobles.

Early Years

The Firecam family’s traditional home is in a small city outside the capital of Yaga Minor. For hundreds of years the family has been among the leaders of research and production of the shipyards that make the planet famous. Young Locke, when he was not with his friends, spent much of his free time learning about and studying the shipyards and the massive vessels they created. This love of spacecraft would be the driving factor in many of his later decisions, and also provide him with a unique understanding of craft functionality that has been useful in his military career. It was also in his childhood that Locke met his future spouse Alley Trepe. The two were close friends and spent much time both getting into and than out of interesting situations.

Military Career

Imperial Navy

At the age of seventeen Firecam left his family and his home to go to the Imperial Academy. He was the first member of his family to not study starship engineering, rather his undergraduate work focused on military science. At the Imperial Academy Locke was top of his class, earning the much coveted graduation with Honors and accepted a position in the Imperial Navy as a Flight Corporal. His first command was squadron leader of the 4th Sector Fleet’s elite assault gunboat squad. In his time as an imperial Locke earned three Letters of Commendation for his superior service, special Recognition from the ISB for his participation in a secret operation that almost cost him his life, and membership to COMPNOR. He served as an Imperial Academy staff member, and was promoted up to Lt. Commander when his life forever changed.

Royal Hapan Navy

Firecam was always a very loyal individual and when his Emperor, Charon, was removed from the throne he took this very seriously. Along with his Fleet Commanding Officer, Commander Spoz, and a few others, Locke made his way to the Hapes Consortium where he accepted a commission as an Ensign flying the Nova Battle Cruiser HRS Mathonore. It did not take long for the Hapan leadership to recognize his skills as an officer, and he quickly climbed through the ranks, hitting his first milestone as a Hapan Officer.

Firecam’s first taste of command came from then Vice Admiral Tyrridon, who saw much in the young officer, and named him to his Naval Command Staff and jumped him three ranks from his current Lieutenant rank to that of Commander. Locke served as the Naval Training Officer, a position he held for some time. Using his knowledge gained in COMPNOR and the Imperial Academy, he developed the longest lasting and most influential system of Naval Training. This system eventually was replaced, but is currently slated to return to use. After a distinguished career leading the Hapan Academy, Locke took the job of Commanding the 1st Hapan Fleet, which was currently struggling. This proved to be his defining moment as a Naval Commander.

Not long after he took command of the 1st the fleet began to turn around, and soon it was the best run and most effective fleet in the Royal Hapan Navy, earning then Line Captain Firecam much praise and admiration. This work in rebuilding the 1st Hapan Fleet made Captain Firecam the Navy’s top commander, and he was soon ready for a new project. It had long been a dream of the Captain to start a new type of fleet, one that was fast and responsive, able to move freely to where it was needed, and support the aspects of the cluster that the Defense fleets could not handle. Out of this vision, the 3rd Escort Fleet was born.

The founding of the third is one of the biggest accomplishments of Lord Firecam’s career. Again, he took a fleet that was basically nothing at the time, the 9th Hapan Fleet, and made it into the top fleet in the Navy. Under his direction the third continued to grow and develop and still stands strong to this day. Although it lost its Escort tag, it still traces its beginning to Firecam’s design.

Shortly after this King James made then Captain Firecam a member of the top tier of Naval Officers, promoting him to Commodore and entrusting him with the job of Naval Admin Officer. Although hesitant to actually give the title of NCO away again, the King entrusted Commodore Firecam to do what needed to be done with the Navy. After a brief period of time, the Navy was in its best shape ever, and the King declared that the Navy had entered a golden age of activity, function, and reliability. This further added to Locke’s fame, as not long after that when Vice Admiral Lant retired as the Naval Quartermaster, Commodore Firecam was promoted to Contra Admiral and given full authority over the Navy as its Commanding Officer in function and title.

Under Lord Firecam the Navy expanded to its greatest size ever, adding a history 4th Hapan Fleet, the 21st Hapan Fleet. The Royal Hapan Navy continued to grow and develop under his leadership and was widely regarded as the most efficient fighting force in the galaxy. After his long and distinguished service, His Majesty, in a move long expected by some, made Admiral Firecam a Hapan Lord and his place as one of the top officers in Hapan history was forever secured. House Firecam made its home in the Sarr system, and although this world was much different from the Family’s traditional home of Yaga Minor, this new branch of Firecams was distinctly different, having adopted Hapan culture and ideals.

Shortly after being made a noble, his majesty promoted Lord Firecam to the rank of Vice Admiral, the rank he holds to this day. With the onset of the Minister of Defense, the Admiral’s title changed to Chief of Staff, but his leadership and care for his officers that defined his career remains the same. Under his leadership the Navy continues to grow and adapt to the ever changing Galaxy.
