Role & Service
Like most Tractica Heavy Cruisers, the Maiden of Iron served predominately as a defensive warship. However, the Maiden of Iron would garner a reputation as Countesss Emilie Shaa’s personal symbol of her tyrannical reign over the Alsace system. There have been conflicting theories as to how the ship was given its name. Some historians argue that the ship was named upon its commission and that Emilie Shaa would be given her nickname ‘The Iron Maiden” on the basis of her command ship’s name. Others believe that the ship was named after Shaa had earned her infamous nickname.
The Maiden of Iron spearheaded Shaa’s campaigns in wiping out the remnants of the Victory Alliance following its defeat in 3972, and against the revolutionist movement Tears of Dawnstar. It would later serve as the flagship of the 6th Draconian Order, the primary defense fleet of the Alsace system.
Destruction
Second Battle of Gallinore
Commanded by Emilie Shaa, the 'Maiden of Iron' spearheaded the Draconian forces in the second battle of Gallinore. The ship, however, was destroyed as it attacked the main battle line of the Phoenix Movement's fleet. A Quasar Battle Cruiser with a failing main reactor accidentally rammed the Maiden's engines, triggering an explosion that consumed several nearby ships.
