Template:Noble House-Current House Tylger is an old and powerful noble house of the Tarii. Originally a militaristic Dukatii governing Lorell under House Paradoc, House Tylger rose to fame and was elevated to Tarii during the Dark Age and Hapan Civil War. During the lengthy conflict, the heads of House Tylger were among the most important individuals in the Draconian Union's hierarchy. Of the old Draconian noble houses, it is the only one which still has political influence on a cluster-wide level. Since the Dark Age, the family has enjoyed considerable political, economic and military influence in the Hapes Consortium and currently governs the Rim Worlds region.

History

Very little is known of the Tylger family's activities before the Antiquity Era, except that they resided on Lorell in the area which is now known as New Arxian. They were the descendants of Lorell Raiders and administrated a considerable community in the area, which was part of the Paradoc family's colony and base on the planet.

Age of Queen-Mothers

Upon the creation of nobility in the Hapes Consortium under Queen-Mother Tini'duran III in 702, House Tylger was established as a Dukatii under House Paradoc which was a Tarii. Lexiniq Tylger was the first Countess of House Tylger when it was established in 702 and is therefore considered to be the founder.

As Lorell prospered, so did House Tylger, with many Duchii and Turilii coming under its governance. While House Paradoc was tasked with governing the entire system, representing the system at the Royal Court and also commanding the local fleets, House Tylger's responsibility was the day-to-day administration of Lorell. It also had jurisdiction over the Turilii governing the three moons of Lorell.

The family joined the Tini'duranist following during the Second Antiquity Era and has been a firm believer in its beliefs ever since, promoting conservative ideals and believing that the nobility is vital to making the Hapan society work.

Dark Age

On the dawn of the Dark Age in 3946, House Tylger's leader Countess Kani Tylger supported Princess Da'tan's conservative ideals in secret, fearing reprisal from Lady Paradoc who supported reformist Ta'lan Pal'durath. When Princess Da'tan received military backing from House Olanji, House Par'wandi and several other Tarii families, she approached Countess Tylger to discuss Lorell's situation in the coming conflict. House Tylger pledged its loyalty to the Princess and vowed to assist in the conquest of Lorell.

During Operation Draconian, the Royal Draconian Order clashed with House Paradoc's forces in the first battle of Lorell. Countess Tylger killed Lady Paradoc before her agents lowered all defense shields and disabled all planetary batteries, paving the way for the first assault on Lorell.

For the vital contribution to the Draconian Union's first victory, Princess Da'tan elevated House Tylger's status to Tarii and married Xariq Tylger, the brother of now Lady Kani Tylger. The family was eventually moved to administrate the Arxian system from 3948 and on, ruling over various immigrating agricultural religious communities which Princess Da'tan had permitted provided that they delivered food supplies for the armed forces of the Draconian Union.

The family became increasingly unpopular with certain groups of the local community due to adopting brutal methods of governance. While the family had strict instructions to stay out of the local religious affairs, the Lady's son, Laz Tylger, became the hero of the people when he used the local Draconian garrison to bring an unpopular religious movement under control. Laz Tylger eventually became the ruling Lord of the Arxian system and maintained the family's support of the Draconian war effort.

In the final days of the Hapan Civil War, he was considered second in command of the Draconian Union together with his cousin Lady Ci'hani, both subordinate of Da'tan's daughter Princess Lana Da'tanah. After the second battle of Gallinore, Lord Tylger negotiated the unavoidable surrender of the Draconian Union in 3999.

Phoenix Age

As King Andrew reformed much of the Hapes Consortium during the Phoenix Age, many noble houses lost their considerable political and military influence. House Tylger maintained good relations with the King and assisted with the rebuilding of Hapan society as it was permitted to keep governing the Arxian system. While King Andrew technically still needed the assistance of the old nobility to keep the Hapes Consortium unified, he had little love for noble houses which had supported the Draconian Union. House Tylger was among the exceptions.

The Arxian system remained a Draconian bastion during the Phoenix Age, with much of the society remaining as it had been during the Dark Age. This led to great civil unrest and members of House Tylger were targeted for assassination by radical members of the religious communities. As punishment, the nobles cracked down hard on all of the population and mass executions followed the succesful assassination of Cordelia Tylger, Lord Tylger's youngest daughter.

This timeperiod also saw the rise of Lord Tylger's son, Alexander Tylger who joined up with the Royal Hapan Navy and rose through the ranks under guidance from such individuals as the future King James and Lord Threestars. Nobility governance of the Lorell system had been completely abolished since 4001 and it was therefore a controvertial choice on King Andrew's part to make Alexander Tylger, at the time a Contra Admiral, military governor of the system in 4024. Many feared that the King was helping the Draconians retake power in the Hapes Cluster.

King Andrew approved the transition of power within House Tylger in 4025 when Laz Tylger gave his own title to his son, Alexander Tylger. The following year, the King became too ill to properly rule and Lord Tylger was instated as Regent in the absence of Crown-Prince James who was in isolation, studying for his eventual rule.

Golden Age

King Andrew stepped down in 4027 and was killed on the day of King James' coronation. The act was blamed on the Draconian noble houses, but did not stop the new King from appointing Lord Tylger as the first Prime Minister of the Hapes Consortium.

His time as Prime Minister was plagued by distrust and disagreements, not only with King James, but also representatives of many Hapan worlds. The appointment of hardline Draconian Grand General Harr as Minister of Defence only fueled the fire and Lord Tylger went in to self-imposed exile in the fall of 4027. Shortly thereafter, Grand General Harr was charged with treason and exiled as his plans for using the Draconian Royal Guard to take control of Chume'Dan, the Royal Hapan Palace and Lorell Hall were discovered.

Laz Tylger was reinstated as Lord of Arxian in his son's absence. Alexander Tylger returned to the Hapes Consortium in 4029, working briefly as Minister of Law before rejoining the Royal Hapan Navy and taking command of the 1st Hapan Fleet during the Black Sun Crisis. After his achievements during this campaign, his Lordship was reinstated. Lord Tylger re-entered the political arena in 4030 and has been a permanent member of Lorell Hall ever since, serving in multiple functions, most notably Minister of Culture and Archon of the Rim Worlds region.

His children, along with the children of Cordelia Tylger, have made careers for themselves outside of the Hapes Cluster while maintaining good relations with the Consortium. The most notable of recent activities has been House Tylger's financing of Tara Tylger's business ventures, such as The Damned and Centurion Arms, as well as the transfer of StormOne Recycling to her ownership.

Political Power

Historical
Prior to the Dark Age, House Tylger's political power was restricted to Lorell and its three moons, whereas all of the Lorell system's policies overall were dictated by House Paradoc. The Hapan Civil War brought the family considerable power as it became elevated to the level of Tarii and also Count Xariq Tylger's marriage to Princess Da'tan.

Over the course of the Dark Age, the house excercised its political power by dictating policy across the Draconian Union, especially during the rule of Lady Regent Ci'hani and later Princess Da'tanah. The family formed close friendships to many important noble houses, such as House Olanji, House Shaa and House Par'wandi in addition to the bonds created by marriage and adoption between members of the family with House Ci'hani and House Zah'naria.

Thanks to Lord Laz Tylger's involvement in the negotiations that produced the Gallinore Accords, the family maintained an elevated status during the Phoenix Age when many of the other noble houses lost considerable political power.

Present Day
The rise of Lord Alexander Tylger as a Governor of the Lorell system, and later Regent and Prime Minister of the Hapes Consortium, thrust the family back in to the central political arena in the Golden Age. For a considerable length of time, House Tylger was the only of the new "generation" of Tarii to govern its own system.

After retiring from his duties in the Royal Hapan Navy in 4030, Lord Tylger became Minister of Culture. While not considered an important ministry, it comes with many privileges such as having a voice in Lorell Hall. The Lord is also considered part of the King's inner circle, often giving private advice on matters of great importance.

Lord Tylger took up the position of Archon of the Rim Worlds region in 4032, becoming governor of a large portion of the Hapes Cluster. This was the subject of heated debate on many worlds in the Interior region as the archonate encompassed a large portion of the dissolved Draconian Union's territory.

Outside the Hapes Consortium the family enjoys considerable influence with numerous factions and corporations, most of it stemming from friendships tied during Lord Tylger's time as Prime Minister and his daughters' careers with foreign parties.
