Template:UnderConstruction Template:Battle The Second Battle of Reboam was a lengthy struggle over control of the planet Reboam in the Rebo system which followed the Sword Confederacy's wide-scale invasion of the Draconian Union's territory between 3976 and 3978. The planet was specifically targeted due to the headquarters of Zion Tech being located there. House Par'wandi, the Tarii family that governed the system, struggled to maintain control of the planet.
It began with the landing of Sword Confederacy troops on the northern hemisphere of Reboam on February 18 3978 following the third battle of Rebo. The Draconian forces were initially caught by surprise and lost several major cities. They soon mounted a strong defense and both sides dug in to trenches on the vast glacier wastelands and a lengthy five year battle ensued.
Prelude
The Sword Confederacy launched a major invasion in to the Draconian Union's territory between 3976 and 3978 in addition to multiple space battles between the opposing factions. It began with the siege of XY322098 in late 3976 and then the un-successful first battle of Reboam in early 3977. The bombardment of Belgor took place in the spring of 3977, an operation meant to cripple the Draconian ground forces.
By 3978 Princess Inaq was bent on breaking the Draconian Union's industrial capacity. She viewed an attack on the Olanji/Charubah Charu Wheels facilities as unrealistic at that time and therefore decided to concentrate on Zion Tech's headquarters in the House Par'wandi controlled Rebo system.
The 5th Sword Assault Fleet attacked the Rebo system and drove out the defending 3rd Draconian Order before launching a large wave of drop ships on to the surface of Reboam.
Overview
Landing
Using four full logistic wings, the Sword Confederacy landed one entire army region along with five army groups, two tank divisions and one artillery division; a total of 1,500,000 assault troops, 40,000 tanks and 20,000 heavy assault vehicles.
Defenders
Due to Zion Tech's headquarters being on the planet and the military strength of House Par'wandi, Reboam usually had a permanent garrison of 14 million troops and 100,000 tanks. However, most of House Par'wandi's army was off-world when the assault occurred due to military exercises on Jyll in the Charu system. There was therefore only 1 million troops and 20,000 tanks on the planet.
"Lady Par'wandi has absolutely NOTHING to put up against the Sword Confederacy's assault forces!!!" – General Andiana Adzar, responding to Viscountess Qedal's requests for more troops to be diverted to the defense of XY322098 rather than Reboam.
The Draconian Union was unable to drive out the 5th Sword Assault Fleet until April 22, some two months after the assault took place. After that the forces on the surface were reinforced by a massive amount of troops which halted the Sword Confederacy's advancements.
